CORRECTIV is the first non-profit research center in the German-speaking area. Trough investigative journalism CORRECTIV reporters uncover systemic grievances and point out problems of social relevance. CORRECTIV aims to finance itself mainly through donations from readers. The rebranding addresses readers more directly and makes them visible as part of a community. Everytime CORRECTIV „points a finger“ at a social grievance, journalism fulfills its responsibility as the fourth estate. Since the late Middle Ages, small hands or pointing fingers were drawn next to sections of text to draw special attention to them or to note corrections. This is how the typographic character of the „index“ evolved. The visual identity is based on this principle. The pointing hand symbolizes the core of the CORRECTIV brand.
